The sixth African Urban Research Initiative (AURI) Policy Conference aims to bring together applied urban research centres based on African continent to foster discussion and explore ways of building the urban body of knowledge with local knowledge. The conference is being organised under the 2017-2018 AURI work programme. The theme is:
‘Fostering a Comparative Research Agenda in African Cities – Urban Spatial Inequality and the New Urban Agenda’
The conference offers an opportunity to gather high quality submission based on ongoing research in three categories:
City Lab Research – This is intended to share information between AURI members on their respective city lab work.
Comparative Research – This will offer the opportunity to present progress on similarities and differences found in different centres
New Urban Agenda – This is focused on the integration of the NUA in existing work programmes or future plans for monitoring of NUA in the local context.
