Africa’s urban Age – beyond Development as Usual
The Alfred Herrhausen Gesellschaft, LSE Cities, GIZ and the Habitat Unit at TU Berlin are organising an Urban Africa Workshop in the frame of the Urban Age programme. The Workshop will address Africa’s urban age and will attempt to go beyond development as usual. The workshop aims at better understanding the dynamics of urbanization in Africa, at reflecting on paradigms and routines of engagement and at discussing broader implications and alternative responses to key urban challenges.
Nathalie Jean-Baptiste will take part in the workshop’s proposition segment from an African Academic and Development perspective. Her contribution will address how scientific research is necessary to guide actions towards the new urban agenda and the 2030 sustainable development goals in Africa.
